Vertical Farming

Vertical Farming

What is vertical farming?

Vertical farming is an agricultural cultivation method in which plants are grown vertically. This can be realized with the help of a vertical platform, such as a wall or a cylinder. Vertical farming is an innovative and emerging method of cultivation that allows for a particularly fresh harvest even in inner-city areas where cultivation space is scarce.

Why do you grow vertically?

Vertical farming is an efficient way to bring fresh, local and high-quality produce to cities. Most urban areas are densely populated and there is little space available. With vertical farming, you can grow plants in a vertical formation, which means we have five times more space per square meter for our plants. This allows us to produce food safely, even in the compounds of a city. There is no need for longer transportation distances and our products are particularly fresh, as they can bought immediately after harvesting.

How does the crop grow in our Vertical Farm?

Vertical farming (also known as vertical agriculture) is often carried out indoors. Optimal agricultural conditions are simulated and controlled – for example, the irrigation and lighting of the plants, the supply of minerals or even the temperature control in the room. These maesures ensure optimal growing conditions.
